Liquemotion is an experimental diary that resists the logic of emotional capitalism. The project begins with a question I have struggled with for years: Why does the version of myself on social media feel so different from who I am offline? I often found myself posting an aesthetic lunch photo while quietly panicking about internship interviews, or pretending to be cheerful online when I felt exhausted in real life. Many people around me share the same sentiment—Instagram becomes a stage for curated happiness, a place where authenticity feels risky and comparison feels unavoidable.
Liquemotion attempts to build a space outside of that algorithmic gaze. Instead of optimizing feelings for likes or visibility, users can speak freely—without judgment, metrics, or performance. When a user writes or records their emotions, the system transforms those inner states into a unique “emotional cocktail,” visualized as layered colors, textures, and animated ingredients. Each drink is messy, complex, and honest—just like real emotional life.
The metaphor of a cocktail reflects how lived experience is always a mixture: 30% joy, 50% anxiety, 20% nostalgia—constantly shifting. Liquemotion turns these private blends into a visual archive, creating a collection of feelings rather than a feed of perfected moments. Ultimately, the work invites users to slow down, reflect, and reclaim emotional expression from platforms that profit from our vulnerabilities.
